Becoming Friends with Our Emotions

Date & Time: November 24, 2024, 11AM
Location: Artime Barro, Laguna Beach
Cost: $80 per person

Maximum Participants: 10
Age Requirement: 18+

Workshop Description:

Join us for a transformative workshop that combines the therapeutic art of ceramics with emotional exploration, inspired by the beloved movie Inside Out. Participants will engage in a hands-on creative process, sculpting a unique ceramic piece that symbolizes one of their key emotions—such as joy, sadness, anger, or fear. This engaging activity not only fosters self-expression but also serves as a powerful tool for introspection.

As you shape the clay, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with your emotional experiences on a deeper level, gaining insights into your feelings and how they influence your life. The workshop will provide valuable strategies for emotion regulation, empowering you to enhance your emotional well-being and develop a compassionate relationship with yourself.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Deeper Connection: Foster a greater understanding of your emotions and how they affect your life.

  • Increased Awareness: Identify emotional patterns and triggers through creative expression.

  • Coping Strategies: Learn practical techniques for regulating emotions and practicing self-compassion.

  • Personalized Plan: Create an action plan to improve your emotional health and strengthen your connections with yourself and others.

Ceramics Activity:

In this workshop, you will use clay to create a physical representation of your chosen emotion. This tactile process allows for a unique form of self-exploration and emotional insight, transforming abstract feelings into tangible art. By engaging in this creative expression, you’ll discover how art can be a pathway to understanding and regulating your emotions, making the invisible visible. Dr. Sadaf will provide psychoeducation on emotions and share helpful tips on emotion regulation techniques.

  • Ideal for anyone seeking a creative, supportive space for emotional reflection and growth
